Speedboat to Billefjord and Nordenskiöld Glacier

Explore the breathtaking Billefjord coastline with us on this seven-hour speedboat excursion!

Adventuring in the vicinity of northern Isfjord is the focus of this adventure as we visit Skansbukta and Nordenskiöld Glacier. Our route travels northeast out of Longyearbyen, and the fjords we explore are often filled with wildlife and surrounded by dynamic landscapes.

After driving our boat out of Adventfjord and crossing through the extensive Sassenfjord, we will stop to visit Skansbukta, a small bay located in Billefjord. This bay is famous for its castle-like mountains, deep glacial valleys, and cultural heritage from centuries past.

From Skansbukta, we will continue forward and have a view from the sea over the mining settlement of Pyramiden, a historic Soviet town that was abandoned in 1998.

On this trip, everywhere you look is surrounded by stunning scenery. From the comforts of our boat, we will experience the glacier front and rugged coastlines under the Arctic sun. Along the way, we drive near the front of Nordenskiöld Glacier where we will try our luck to spot some wildlife.

During polar summer, millions of birds make Svalbard their home and if we are lucky, we get to see whales, walrus, seals, and occasionally polar bears. Experiencing Billefjord by boat is a classic Svalbard experience and a rich opportunity to cover lots of ground.

Our speedboat “Stefi” is custom built for navigating the polar environment. It's partially enclosed cabin offers shelter and warmth even during cold days or rough seas

This is an adventure you won’t forget!

NB: Due to the current situation associated with the war in Ukraine, visit to Pyramiden, town run by the Russian State company, will not be included in the tour itinerary. Please kindly take this point into consideration when you book a tour with us and thank you for understanding!
